The theory of network formation shows how the costs and benefits of linking shape the architecture and the welfare properties of social and economic networks. Over the past twenty years, this theory has been extensively tested in the laboratory. This talk will report the findings of large scale laboratory experiments on the formation of networks.

主讲人简介：

桑吉夫.戈亚尔(Sanjeev Goyal)是剑桥大学Arthur Pigou经济学教授，因其在网络经济学领域的开创性研究而广为人知。他是英国国家学术院院士，计量经济学会会士，经济理论促进学会会士以及博弈论学会会士。他曾于2012-2014年担任剑桥大学INET 研究所创始主任(该研究所后更名为Janeway Institute)，并于2014-2018年担任剑桥大学经济学系主任。他的研究成果发表于 Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economic Studies, American Economic Review, Comparative Political Studies, Symposium on Theory of Computing(STOC), PNAS和Management Science 等顶尖学术期刊。
